Skiing fun at Roßkopf

The ski and leisure mountain of Sterzing

WINTER SPORTS

Snow-sure ski resort right on your doorstep

From the town center it's just a few steps to the valley station of the Rosskopf ski area, Sterzing's local mountain. Skiers, sledders, and winter hikers find a reliably snow-covered winter landscape and an impressive panoramic view on the 2,000-meter-high Rosskopf. The family-friendly ski area offers perfectly groomed slopes for both beginners and ambitious skiers alike. Sledders can enjoy Italy's longest illuminated and snow-covered toboggan run, at 9.6 km.

Ratschings-Jaufen – modern & snow-reliable

The Ratschings-Jaufen ski area stretches from 1,300 m to 2,150 m. It's one of the most modern and snow-reliable ski areas in South Tyrol. 25 km of easy to medium-difficulty slopes are available for your snow enjoyment. Sledders also get their money's worth, with a 5 km run taking you from the mountain station down into the valley.

Ladurns – Winter fun in the Pflersch Valley

The Ladurns ski area in the Pflersch Valley, with its 15 km of slopes, guarantees fun for every level. Reliably snow-covered slopes of varying difficulty, a funpark for snowboarders, and a 6.5 km toboggan run to the valley station delight young and old alike. With the "South Tyrol Wipptal Ski Pass" you can try the slopes of all three ski areas.

Pfitsch Valley – Ski touring for experienced skiers

The Pfitsch Valley is not a valley for beginners. Jagged walls, steep gullies, icy snow, and wind: even experienced ski tourers reach their limits at the Bischofsmütze and on the Hochfeiler north face. Absolute freedom from vertigo and a secure kick-turn technique are also essential on the Grabspitze, Schrammacher, Felbe, Wilde Kreuzspitze, Rotes Beil, "Rotbachler," and Hohe Wand. The touring season on these peaks begins when the crocuses are already blooming down in the valley.

Ski touring and snowshoeing in the Wipptal

Ski tourers and snowshoe hikers also get their money's worth in the side valleys of Ridnaun, Ratschings, Jaufental, and the Pflersch Valley. On the website sentres.com you can check out some suggested tours in the Wipptal.
