1. Data controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data within the meaning of the GDPR is:

Hotel Sterzinger Moos KG des Christian Plank
Moosweg 4
I-39049 Sterzing | Vipiteno (BZ)
Email: info@sterzingermoos.com
Tel.: +39 0472 765542

For any questions or concerns regarding data protection, please contact Christian Plank directly at the email address above. There is no statutory obligation to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as the company’s data processing activities do not meet the requirements of Article 37 GDPR.

2. What data we process and why

  • a) Website visits (server and usage data)

  • When you visit our website, our hosting platform Wix automatically collects technical data (including your IP address, browser type, device type, date and time of access, and pages viewed). This data is technically necessary to operate the website. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and functional operation of the website).

  • b) Website statistics (Wix Analytics)

  • We use Wix’s integrated analytics feature to understand how our website is used (for example, page views, visit duration and visitor origin). This analysis is carried out in aggregated or pseudonymised form through the Wix platform. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent given through our cookie banner) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for statistics that are strictly necessary for technical purposes.

  • c) Contact / booking enquiries

  • If you contact us using a contact or booking form, by email or by telephone, we process the data you provide (for example, your name, email address, telephone number and the content of your enquiry) in order to handle your enquiry or booking. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or steps taken prior to entering into a contract).

  • d) Newsletter / email marketing

  • If you have subscribed to our newsletter or receive marketing emails from us as a guest, we use Wix’s integrated email marketing tool. Your email address is stored solely for this purpose and will not be shared with third parties for their own purposes without your consent. You may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in each email or by contacting us. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in relation to existing guests under Section 130 of the Italian Privacy Code / Recital 47 GDPR (direct marketing to existing customers).

  • e) Social networks

  • Our website contains links to our profiles on social networks (for example, Facebook). These are simple links and not embedded social plugins. Clicking a link will take you to the relevant platform, where that provider’s privacy policy applies.

3. Recipients of data / Processors

Your data will be shared with the following categories of recipients to the extent necessary for the purposes stated above:

  • Wix.com, Inc., as the hosting and platform provider (including integrated analytics and email marketing features). Wix may also process data outside the EU/EEA; in such cases, Wix ensures an adequate level of data protection, including through the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Further information: Wix Privacy Policy

  • Public authorities, where we are legally required to transmit data (for example, reporting obligations applicable to accommodation providers).

Data is not shared with any other third parties for their own purposes.

4. Retention period

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations (for example, tax and guest-reporting regulations). Enquiry data is deleted after the enquiry has been handled or after the end of the stay, unless a longer statutory retention period applies. Newsletter data is retained until you withdraw your consent.

5. Your rights as a data subject

Under Articles 15–22 GDPR, you have the right to:

  • obtain information about the personal data stored about you (Article 15);

  • have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16);

  • have data erased (“right to be forgotten”, Article 17);

  • restrict processing (Article 18);

  • data portability (Article 20);

  • object to processing, particularly direct marketing (Article 21);

  • withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Article 7(3)).

To exercise these rights, simply send an informal request to info@sterzingermoos.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is:

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.

  • Strictly necessary cookies are required to operate the website (for example, language settings and shopping basket or booking features) and do not require consent (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

  • Analytics cookies (Wix statistics) help us understand how the website is used. They are set only with your consent through the cookie banner.

You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may limit some features of the website.
